MISSION
To foster friendship and mutual respect between the East and West by promoting the music of Chopin.

HISTORY AND HERITAGE
DOMUŚ operates under the patronage of Marcin Dziewanowski and his family. The roots of the family reach back to the 10th century. Their ancestral estates include the famous Szafarnia Chateau, the estate that served as summer vacation and musical inspiration for Frédéric Chopin during his formative years. Frédéric's father, Mikołaj Chopin, was the personal tutor of the Dziewanowski children, including young Dominik who became Frédéric's lifelong friend. Chopin's nickname for Dominik was "Domuś", the name of our institute -- because it encapsultes the idea of deep friendship. It was on the land of the Dziewanowski family that Chopin created his professional composition. The family's unique relationship with young Chopin is reflected in their family coat-of-arms, serving as the Institute's logo.
